Job Title: Communications Engineer

Location: Pax River, MD

Summary: Seeking a senior aircraft communications subject matter expert for various NAVAIR avionics platforms. Candidate will support all facets of designing, developing, and testing the avionics communications systems. This includes providing systems engineering for the design, development, test and evaluation of new and existing communications equipment installed on the aircraft. Candidate will develop solutions for future tactical communications warfighter requirements. Candidate will support the program development, deployment, operation and test of the communication systems. Candidate will attend weekly technical meetings and responds to action items regarding communications systems.

Qualifications: A qualified incumbent would at minimum possess the following skill sets: 

• Familiarity with Avionics and Mission Systems 
• Work knowledge of ARC-210 radio suite 
• Working knowledge of tactical communications systems 
• Systems engineering principles 
• Excellent communications skills 
• Interpersonal Skills 

Security Clearance Required: Secret 

Required Education: Bachelor's Degree in an engineering field or computer science from an accredited college or university. 

Experience: SENIOR: A senior level person has over ten (10) years of experience performing work related to engineering discipline. A senior level person typically works on high-visibility or mission critical aspects of a given program and performs all functional duties independently. A senior level person may oversee the efforts of less senior staff and/or be responsible for the efforts of all staff assigned to a specific job.

Job Title: Electrical Engineer

Location: Pax River, MD

Summary: Junior Electrical Engineer to support the development and test of the CH-53K Software Support Activity (SSA) Integration Test Bench and the Portable System Integration Lab (PSIL). Candidate will be responsible for all aspects of creating and updating the SSA test facility and its avionics equipment. Candidate will be embedded with the software development team to test and verify software modifications prior to being released to the fleet. This is a full time on-site position at NAS Patuxent River, MD. Candidate must have experience working with project documentation such as ICDs, wiring schematics, power diagrams and system specifications. Candidate should have working knowledge of electronic devices including relays, switches, transformers, DC-DC converters, potentiometers and different signals including ARINC-429, MIL-STD-1553, discrete, Ethernet.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain the CH-53K Software Support Activity (SSA) Integration Test Bench and the Portable System Integration Lab (PSIL)
• Read and evaluate electrical schematics, single-line wiring diagrams, power distribution drawings, cable harness drawings, mechanical assemblies
• Create, redline and edit electrical wiring schematics using AutoCAD
• Compile applicable documents, BOMs, wire sheet rundowns using Microsoft Office applications
• Test and troubleshoot using multimeters
• Integrate/install avionics equipment and cable harness routing
• Calculate and compute Electrical Load Analyses (ELA) for the 53K SSA
• Read and apply avionics equipment requirements presented in Interface Control Documents (ICDs)
• Work with hardware technicians, discussing electrical wire schematics, cable routing, installation of avionics equipment, testing and troubleshooting issues
• Work with drafters, discussing mechanical panel requirements, tolerances, etc.
• Work with software team to discuss software testing requirements, simulation environment requirements and processes

Security Clearance Required: Secret

Desired Education: Bachelor's Degree in an engineering field from an accredited college or university. 

Experience: JUNIOR: A Junior level person within a labor category has less than three (3) years’ experience performing work related to the labor category functional description and a BA/BS degree. A Junior level person is responsible for assisting more senior positions and/or performing functional duties under the oversight of more senior positions.
